I wonder if VH1 is hiring

The Bitter Law Student was wondering if it was better to be knowledgeable about the law or pop culture. Is this even a debate? Would you rather talk about the rule against perpetuities or Ja Rule? The first amendment or 50 First dates? Ruth Bader-Ginsburg or Dr. Ruth? Brown v. Board of Ed. or Bobby Brown? Co-conspirator statements or the Bourne Conspiracy? I could go on forever if I didn't have to learn an entire semester in the next 2 days. Law school sucks.

Taking your post seriously:
The rule against perpetuities is bad, but is it worse than Ja Rule? I think not. At least with the RAP i might learn something, even if a court somwehere decided that a lawyer of average competence is too stupid to understand it.

50 first dates sucked, so i give that one to the first amendment.

Ruth Bader-Ginsburg v. Dr. Ruth is close - they're both shriveled old women. Still, i'll take Dr. Ruth cause that'll lead to talking about sex.

Bobby Brown is an endless goldmine of humor, so he wins there.

And the Borne Conspiracy failed to live up to the original, but co-conspirator statements are boring.

So, close call, but pop culture wins 3-2.
